The state motto of Connecticut is "He Who Transplanted Still Sustains" (Qui Transtulit Sustinet in Latin).

The Connecticut state motto was adopted in 1788. The origin of the motto is uncertain but is associated to an article "The Public Seal of Connecticut" from 1889 by State Librarian Charles J. Hoadley.
